Liver/Gallbladder Flush 4-Pack
Set of four 250 mL (8½ fl oz) bottles.
$6 off package deal. These 4 tinctures (GCG, Chinese Bitters, Coptis, and Curcuma) are commonly used to prepare for a liver/gallbladder flush so that it will be easier and more effective.
These four tinctures would normally cost $6 extra if they were purchased separately. They are:
- GCG. The primary ingredient of GCG is Jin Qian Cao, also known as Lysimachiae Herba or Herba Desmodii Styrachifolii. In Chinese medicine, it is traditionally used to prevent and expel gallbladder stones and kidney stones[1]. Japanese researchers[2] partially substantiated this traditional use in a 1993 scientific study. It is also used topically, to treat skin sores, lesions, and snake bites. For the gallbladder flush, it is used to prepare by softening and crushing the gallstones.
- Chinese Bitters. The primary ingredient of Chinese Bitters is Long Dan Cao, also known as Gentianae Radix or Bitterwort. According to medical research, this herb appears to have anti-hypertensive and vasorelaxant properties[3]. In Chinese medicine, this herb has anti-inflammatory and toxin-purging properties, and it is used to treat digestive disorders[1]. Its primary area of effect is the gallbladder, liver, and stomach. It has also been used topically, for treating wounds. For the gallbladder flush, it is used to prepare for the flush by purging toxins from the liver and gallbladder.
- Coptis. The primary ingredient of Coptis is Huang Lian, also known as Rhizoma Coptidis or Goldthread. According to medical research, the active constituent of Huang Lian is berberines, which appear to have anti-hypertensive, inotropic, anti-arrhythmic, and anti-bacterial properties, as well as stimulating bile flow[3]. Like Long Dan Cao, Huang Lian is known in Chinese medicine for its anti-inflammatory and toxin-purging properties, but its area of effect is the heart, large intestine, liver, and stomach[1]. It has also been used topically, for treating burns. Coptis should not be used by newborns, or by women during pregnancy or lactation. For the gallbladder flush, Coptis is used to stimulate bile flow, which helps flush out material.
- Curcuma. The primary ingredient of Curcuma is Yu Jin, also known as Curcumae Radix. This is the root (radix) of the Curcumae plant, which is widely known because its stem (the rhizome) is also known as Turmeric: a common food spice. According to medical research, the active constituents of yu jin are a family of chemicals known as curcuminoids, which appear to have anti-inflammatory effects[3]. Some research suggests it may also have other effects, including anti-cancer effects, although that research is still preliminary. In Chinese medicine, it is known for increasing "energy flow" and blood circulation, and it is also said to be good for the heart and gallbladder[1]. It is said to eliminate jaundice in the gallbladder. For the gallbladder flush, Curcuma is used to increase energy flow in the liver and gallbladder, to increase the effectiveness of the flush.
